Xiaomi 12 Pro Vs Oppo Find X5 Pro: Design
The frames of the Xiaomi 12 Pro and OPPO Find X5 Pro are both made of metal, or more precisely, aluminum. In contrast to the OPPO Find X5 Pro, the Xiaomi 12 Pro has a ceramic back. Both devices are also available in vegan leather versions, but for the time being, only in China. They are both quite slippery and have similar shapes. Glass is more susceptible to fingerprints than ceramic, which is also supposed to be more resilient.
The dimensions of the two devices are also comparable. While the OPPO Find X5 Pro is narrower and slightly thicker, they are nearly equal in height. Comparatively, the OPPO Find X5 Pro weighs 218 grams (ceramic model) / 195 grams (vegan leather model) versus 204/205 grams for the Xiaomi 12 Pro. A certified rating for water and dust resistance (IP68) is only available for the Find X5 Pro. It’s strange that the Xiaomi 12 Pro doesn’t.
While the rear camera modules on both of them are located in the same location, in the top-left corner, the display camera holes are located in different locations on each. But take note, those camera islands do look different. It goes without saying that both phones feel very high-end in the hand. By any means, they are not small, and using them is very cozy. Though they are both quite slippery, you should probably get cases for both phones.
Xiaomi 12 Pro Vs Oppo Find X5 Pro: Display
The 6.73-inch QHD+ (3200 x 1440) LTPO AMOLED display on the Xiaomi 12 Pro is impressive. This curved panel features an adaptive refresh rate of 120Hz. The panel can project HDR10+ content and Dolby Vision is also supported. With a peak brightness of 1,500 nits, it also becomes quite bright. With a screen-to-body ratio of 89.6% (approximately), this device has a 20:9 aspect ratio. Victus Gorilla Glass is used to shield the display.
A 6.7-inch QHD+ (3216 x 1440) LTPO2 AMOLED display is featured on the OPPO Find X5 Pro. This panel is also curved and has an adaptive refresh rate of 120 Hz. Its maximum brightness is 1,200 nits and it can project HDR10+ content. Similar to what Xiaomi’s device offers, this display has a 20:9 aspect ratio and a screen-to-body ratio of about 89.6%. The Gorilla Glass Victus is also used to shield this panel.
As you can see, these two displays do resemble one another somewhat on paper. Both of those are premium panels, which will please you. We basically have nothing negative to say about them. They not only provide an adaptive refresh rate, but also have excellent touch sensitivity. The blacks are extremely deep, and the colors are fantastic, punchy, and vivid. Both panels shine brightly, even outside, and the viewing angles are excellent. With either of them, you cannot go wrong.
Xiaomi 12 Pro Vs Oppo Find X5 Pro: Performance
The same Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip powers both of these smartphones. Right now, that is the most potent processor Qualcomm has to offer. Additionally, both devices have UFS 3.1 flash storage and LPDDR5 RAM. In other words, neither business cut corners on the inside. Of course, the software is not the only component that affects performance.
Both phones come pre-installed with Android 12 but with various skins. The OPPO Find X5 Pro has ColorOS 12.1, whereas the Xiaomi 12 Pro has MIUI 13. Despite the fact that these skins are distinct from one another, they are both excellent and well-optimized. Both MIUI and ColorOS have advanced significantly over time and are now able to compete with any skin on the market.
With all of this combined, both smartphones perform very well. They are buttery smooth, which applies to pretty much everything you do. These two phones don’t lag when you multitask, consume multimedia, process videos, play games, etc. It’s probable that things will continue to be this way for a while. While gaming, neither phone gets particularly warm, but they do. Overall, they can compete with practically every other flagship device and are on an equal footing in terms of performance.
Xiaomi 12 Pro Vs Oppo Find X5 Pro: Battery
They have comparable display sizes and resolutions, but their battery packs are very different. The OPPO Find X5 Pro has a 5,000mAh battery, while the Xiaomi 12 Pro has a 4,600mAh one. But battery capacity isn’t everything. Does it, however, take this case into account when comparing battery life? Yes, it does; however, the OPPO Find X5 Pro performed noticeably better in our tests.
It goes without saying that the average screen-on time we were able to achieve with the Xiaomi 12 Pro was only around 5 hours. When it came to screen-on time, the OPPO Find X5 Pro frequently exceeded the 6-hour mark. If you’re not a light user, of course, that is a significant difference in daily usage. Given the different battery sizes, it is not particularly surprising, that Xiaomi can still make additional improvements to the battery life over time. Naturally, your results may vary. We all have different phone usage habits, and we all have different reception where we live. As a result, your outcomes may differ greatly.
Both devices provide genuinely fast charging when it comes to that. In addition to 50W wireless and 10W reverse wireless charging, the Xiaomi 12 Pro supports 120W wired charging. The OPPO Find X5 Pro has charging capabilities of 80W wired, 50W wireless, and 10W reverse wireless. Additionally, both phones come with charging bricks that let you take full advantage of those speeds. But you’ll need to buy wireless chargers.
Xiaomi 12 Pro Vs Oppo Find X5 Pro: Cameras
Wide, ultrawide, and telephoto cameras are present on the backs of both the Xiaomi 12 Pro and the OPPO Find X5 Pro. The implementations and sensors themselves differ. It does make a difference when compared to the Find X3 Pro that the OPPO Find X5 Pro also has the Marisilicon X NPU. Comparatively, the Find X5 Pro has two 50-megapixel primary cameras, two 50-megapixel secondary cameras, and a 13-megapixel telephoto camera on the back. The Xiaomi 12 Pro has three 50-megapixel cameras.
However, how good are the photos and video? Yes, in a big way, according to our experience. Although there are some differences, both have excellent daytime and nighttime performance. Some people will prefer the overly saturated look that the Xiaomi 12 Pro tends to produce. It doesn’t oversharpen or do anything similar. In most circumstances, the Find X5 Pro photos do appear more realistic. The ultrawide camera on the Find X5 Pro is also more reliable, though both are truly excellent.
The Find X5 Pro typically provides slightly brighter images in low light, while the Xiaomi 12 Pro appears to be more accurate. However, some people will undoubtedly prefer that. In terms of video, both devices perform admirably during the day, but the Find X5 Pro performs marginally better at night, and the MariSilicon X may be the cause. Both phones have decent, but not exceptional, telephoto cameras. It’s unfortunate that the Find X5 Pro no longer features the microscope camera from the Find X3 Pro.
Xiaomi 12 Pro Vs Oppo Find X5 Pro: Audio
Here, the audio situation is quite intriguing. One of the few smartphones with four speakers—two bottom-firing and two top-firing—is the Xiaomi 12 Pro. Harman Kardon has also tuned those speakers. Two speakers, one on the bottom and one in the front, are present on the OPPO Find X5 Pro. When compared, the ones on the Xiaomi 12 Pro are louder and, to be honest, they do seem clearer, at least when in use. They appear more even.
But the ones provided by the OPPO Find X5 Pro are nothing to laugh at. Additionally, they are very good, and most people won’t give a damn. Not at all muffled, neither setup is. However, keep in mind that neither phone has a 3.5mm headphone jack. You’ll need to use Bluetooth headphones, Type-C headphones, or a dongle; the choice is yours.
